How to choose the ideal moisturizer for your skin

Not all moisturizing face creams are the same, so you need to work out which is the best for you and meets your skin’s needs. But first you must work out what your skin type is.
Dry skin
Dry skin has a taut and cracked appearance and may have areas of flaking and the presence of peeling. It is often reddened and may itch or feel tight. It can be a temporary condition, for example due to the cold and extreme temperatures, or be more prolonged over time. In these cases, the skin needs a lot of hydration to rebuild the hydrolipid barrier that protects it from external factors. It’s therefore a good idea to choose a rich, nourishing cream.
Oily skin
Oily skin suffers from excess sebum, which leads to the appearance of enlarged pores, blackheads and other imperfections. Some areas of the skin may appear oily and shiny. In these cases, you shouldn’t use a facial moisturizer that’s too rich, because it will weigh down the skin and make it look shinier. Use a light moisturizing face cream that hydrates the skin but is non-greasy. You can also use a product with a purifying action to remove excess sebum.
Combination skin
Combination skin is one of the most common skin types and includes elements of both dry and oily skin. Often, in combination skin, there are drier, dehydrated areas and shiny areas, especially those in the T-zone (forehead, nose, and chin). Therefore, it is necessary to apply a moisturizing face cream that is neither too rich (risking weighing down oily skin areas) nor too purifying (to avoid drying out dry skin areas).
